ITALIAN AIR FORCE ‘FRECCE TRICOLORI’ – (SUNDAY, 18TH NOVEMBER)

As part of the Italian Week in Kuwait from November 18 to 25, the acrobatics team of the Italian air force – ‘Frecce Tricolori’ – together with Italian military T346A (the most advanced trainer aircraft available at the market today) and Eurofighter F2000-A Typhoon aircraft (the latest-generation multi-role fighter), presented the official air show on Sunday 18th November on Gulf Road near the Kuwait Towers, performing a unique exhibition across the sky over Kuwait City. The best location to observe the show was along the seaside from the Kuwaiti Towers to the Green Island.

Both aircrafts were flown by the Reparto Sperimentale Volo (the Italian Air Force Flight Test Wing) – which is responsible for the study and evaluation of all ground and flight tests of aeronautical weapon systems – and the Italian Air Force aerobatic team “Frecce Tricolori”, the world’s largest and most known acrobatics team, with ten airplanes performing together. Heir of historical acrobatic traditions, this team of the Italian Air Force, with its stunning aircraft stunts, is well known all over the world as a symbol of Italian excellence.

Along with other local dignitaries and foreign diplomats admiring the show from the Army Officers Club, the Ambassador of Italy to Kuwait, H.E. Giuseppe Scognamiglio, was honored by the presence of H.H. Sheikh Nasser Sabah al Ahmad al Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence. The show was also attended by the Chief of the General Staff of Kuwait Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mohammed Khaled Al-Khadher, Chief of Staff of Kuwait Air Force Lt Gen Khaled Al-Khudher, the Chief of Staff of the Italian Air Force Lt Gen Alberto Rosso and other officials.
