The biggest gathering. Because it lasts 3 months and hosts a total of more than 250 young filmmakers coming from over 50 nations, from all continents, who come and go during the event, free of charge, and keeping attendance numbers close to 100, in every stage.
The longest Traveling Campus. Because it is an itinerant Training and Production Center, which travels for over 5000 kilometers, from Sicily to Piedmont, for 12 weeks, organizing Cinema Masterclasses and Set to realize works for audiovisual and cinematography.
Tour 2019: the gathering Cinemadamare stops, with its caravan of about 100 Italian and foreign filmmakers, a week in a different city. Last stop in Venice, during the Film Festival, where – Anello Cinecittà – we propose the best films produced throughout our long tour of Italy.
The goal of the Event:
– shoot movies (max 10 minutes each), in the host cities. Young filmmakers from around the world work side by side with their Italian colleagues and peers;
– training, using formats borrowed from the best schools and universities of cinema on all continents, in favor of what is called the “ideal class”, composed of a group of international students and an international teaching body;
– promoting young Italian and foreign filmmakers and their films, through public screenings, interviews and dissemination of their works in Italy and around the world, and during the Venice Film Festival and the Rome Film Festival
Cinemadamare sections in every week: outdoor cinema (free for all); free workshops and Masterclasses for everyone; production of over 15 short films, shot in the territory of the city that hosts us, in collaboration with local actors / directors / scriptwriters; press conferences with our special guest and with the local authorities who welcome us; promotion of the territory and its activities, through our films that will be brought to many countries of the world, thanks to the activity of our filmmakers and their participation in dozens of festivals.
