As of 10 March 2019, the Kuwaiti authorities no longer issue stickers bearing the residence permit to be affixed to the passports of foreign citizens, an essential document, up to that date, to allow crossing the Kuwait border crossing points. Starting from the aforementioned date, all the information relating to the residence will be merged on the Kuwaiti identity card (civil ID) – both in the special version, for residents working as domestics and in the other version concerning all the other categories – which will allow the entry/exit to/from Kuwait, as long as the holder exhibits – with the ID card – also a valid passport to the border crossing points.
