From February 26th to March 1st 2019, the Multi Mission Frigate (FREMM), of the Italian Navy Carlo Margottini, made a stop in Kuwait, as the fifth stop of the naval campaign in the Middle East and the Arabian Sea (MOMA) which sees the Naval unit of the Military Marine carry out activities of presence and surveillance in the area, to protect the lines of maritime traffic of national interest and to support the Italian defense industry.
On the occasion of the visit of the ship Margottini, the Undersecretary of State for Defense, Hon. Raffaele Volpi, came on a mission to Kuwait, accompanied by the Deputy Secretary General and National Director of Armaments, Admiral Dario Giacomin. The institutional meetings have underlined the closeness of the Italian Government and Italy’s desire to maintain and increase its collaboration with Kuwait.
