A Call for applications by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to promote the publication and distribution of Italian books and films abroad is now open. The call for applications provides for grants for the translation of literary works and the dubbing/subtitling of films, which serve as a strategic tool for promoting the Italian language and culture abroad.
Two types of financial incentives are available:
- A grant for translating an unpublished Italian work abroad and producing, dubbing and subtitling short films, feature films and television series;
- An award for an Italian work that has already been translated abroad.
Applications must be submitted to the Embassy (ambalkuwait.culturale@esteri.it), in accordance with the procedures set out in the call for applications. The deadline for applications for the 2026 edition is 31 March 2026.
