On 12 February 2019, the Deputy Head of Mission of the Italian Embassy in Kuwait, Mr. Andrea Quartieri, attended a forum at Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center (JACC), which was hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Partnership with the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development and presented by the Ban Ki-Moon Centre for Global Citizens on “Empowering Women and Enhancing the Role of Youth in Development and Global Citizens”.
The forum kicked off featuring Fomer President of the Republic of Austria Heinz Fischer and Former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, along with H.E. Dr. Khalid Mahdi, Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development as well as guest presenter Balsam Al-Ayoub.
The symposium was held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister of Kuwait, with the participation of H.E Mariam Al-Aqeel, Minister of State and Economic Affairs. Among the first speakers on the topic was Ms. Irina Bokova, former Director General of UNESCO and Ms. Monika Froehler, CEO of the Ban Ki-Moon Center for Global Citizenship.
