On July 30th, 2019, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Office in Kuwait, together with the Social Work Society, commemorated at The Avenues mall the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.
The event was held under the auspices of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah, and was attended by UN representatives. The ceremony saw as well the participation of Senior officials from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior (MOI), the Diplomatic Corps and the local media. This is the fifth IOM campaign to raise awareness on human trafficking, together with the Social Work Society, founded by Sheikha Bibi Al Sabah, IOM’s Goodwill Ambassador for the GCC. The Italian Embassy was represented by the Charge’ d’Affaires a.i., Mr. Andrea Quartieri.
