To celebrate the Italian National Day, on June 2nd this year, the Embassy has decided to launch, from May 9th to May 30th, a free artistic competition among young Kuwaiti artists (under 30 years of age) in which competitors are invited to submit their artwork with a copy of civil ID., first to the following email address: commerciale.alkuwait@esteri.it (E-mail size should not exceed 4 mega bytes), and consequently deliver it in person (only after receiving delivery instructions by this Embassy). The Artwork must be created by the competitor him/herself (visual arts such as painting, drawing, photography, sculpture etc.) which represents the title “Salute to Italia”, according to individual sentiments and emotional expressions and best reflects the special relationship between our two Countries and the participation is limited to ONE art work per each competitor.
“Salute to Italia“ which you can read in both English and in Italian – meaning greeting or hail to Italy, is the title of a beautiful work of art by the famous Kuwaiti artist, Jafar Islah. The piece will remain among the important artistic evidences of solidarity and longstanding friendship between Italy and Kuwait during the Corona-virus pandemic emergency time, which will never be forgotten.
The Jury headed by the Maestro Jafar Islah, which we thank for the kind and prestigious participation, will evaluate all the artworks received and choose the best two pieces.
Both winners will be awarded a two-way plane ticket to Italy to travel in 2021.
All Artworks submitted will remain in the property of the Embassy of Italy and will be exhibited within its premises or may also be used during sponsored events. We encourage all young Kuwaiti artists (under 30 years of age) to participate in our artistic competition “Salute to Italia”. Thank You.
