I have learned with deep sadness the news of the passing away of H.H. the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and I would like to express to the ruling family and all the friendly people of Kuwait the most heartfelt condolences.
Kuwait loses a heedful and farsighted leader that has allowed the Country, in all these years, to transform itself into a modern nation and increasingly focused on regional integration. In this context, with wisdom and also determination, His Highness was able to make Kuwait a central actor for the perseverance of dialogue and stability in the region and in our common neighborhood.
In this mourning circumstance, I renew to the ruling family and to the friendly people of Kuwait the expressions of the most sincere condolences of Italy and of my personal closeness.
