The NATO-Istanbul Cooperation Initiative Regional Centre held its Opening Ceremony on January 24th, under the patronage and in the presence of the Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait, H.H. Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. This occasion featured the signing of the Agreement between the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the Government of the State of Kuwait regarding the Establishment, Mandate and Operation of the NATO-Istanbul Cooperation Initiative Regional Centre by the Secretary General of NATO, H.E. Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, and the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait, H.E. Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, in the presence of Permanent Representatives and Ambassadors of accredited diplomatic missions.
