In the presence of the Ambassador of Italy to the State of Kuwait, H.E. Giuseppe Scognamiglio, on 16th May 2017, a traditional reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Italian Republic was held at the Regency Hotel in Kuwait City. In addition to the guest of honor, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Khaled Al-Jarallah, at the event took part Kuwaiti personalities from the institutional, scientific and cultural spheres as well as business managers from Italian companies operating in Kuwait and from important local companies.
In his speech (see text), H.E. the Ambassador of Italy wanted to promote the potentials that will be able to emerge as part of the established trend of strengthening bilateral relations between Italy and Kuwait, expressing the hope of expanding cooperation in the economic and cultural spheres. Ambassador Giuseppe Scognamiglio also commemorated the strategic partnership that links Italy to the Emirate, based on sharing dialogue-centered foreign policy approach; conjointly recalling Kuwait’s commitment to the stabilization of the regional security structure.
In the anteroom beside celebration hall, an exhibition was set up of various emblematic models of Italian valuable cars (Ferrari, Maserati Levanto, Alfa Romeo 4C, Giulia and Giulietta), as well as new Ducati motorcycles and miniature designs of the luxurious Azimut yachts, while inside the official reception hall, there were stands of “ILLY” coffee as well as the “Cioccolati Italiani” ice-cream barrow. The celebrative atmosphere was also supported by a projection of images of the most attractive Italian tourist sites, while a soprano, accompanied by a pianist, sang famous opera tunes and various Italian songs.
