On 15 and 16 October 2018, a mission of the Italian Export Credit Agency (SACE) took place in Kuwait, with more than forty Italian companies in the Oil & Gas sector. SACE and Italian companies were welcomed at the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) headquarters in Kuwait City, where numerous projects were presented by the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) and the Kuwait National Petroleum Corporation (KNPC). Also participating in the conference were the representatives of the new KIPIC (Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries), the recent subsidiary of KPC, founded in 2016 and set up to manage the refining and importing operations of liquefied natural gas for the new complex, Al-Zour.
At the Hotel Crowne Plaza, the Italian operators then held talks with lawyers and tax experts operating in Kuwait. Furthermore, a business-to-business (B2B) meeting session was held, attended by a large and selected group of local companies in the sector. The format included tables for every Italian company present, which were visited by many interested local managers. The event received full appreciation from the attendees and allowed a profitable interaction among the participants.
SACE’s mission was achieved thanks to the collaboration of the Italian Embassy in Kuwait and the Italian Trade Agency correspondence point in Kuwait. It also reflects the strengthening of relations between SACE and public companies in the oil sector of Kuwait, following the financing of 625 million dollars guaranteed by the Credit Agency to the project of the new Kuwait National Petroleum Corporation refinery at Al-Zour, as well as the success of the meeting between SACE and KNPC, held last April in Milan.
