On 5 February 2019, as part of a mission in the area, the Prime Minister, Prof. Giuseppe Conte, made a technical stopover in Kuwait, landing at “Ali Al-Salem” military base in south of Kuwait City, where he greeted the Italian militaries of the National contingent Task Force Air Kuwait (IT NCC / Task Force Air), engaged in the international anti-Daesh coalition.
“I am proud and honored to be able to bring the grateful thought of the Italian government and of the nation to you who are providing a fundamental contribution in the fight against ISIS”, said the Prime Minister, in his brief speech to our troops.
The next morning, Prime Minister Conte departed heading to Baghdad for meetings with the Iraqi authorities and to greet the Italian troops stationed in Iraq.
