ANNOUNCEMENT OF SELECTION: YOUTH4CLIMATE: DRIVING AMBITION — 28-30 SEPT. 2021 (MILAN, ITALY)

Almost 400 young people aged between 18 and 29 from the 197 member-countries of the UNFCCC (maximum limit 2 for country) will meet in 2021 in Milan, from 28 to 30 September 2021, for the “YOUTH4CLIMATE: DRIVING AMBITION” event, in order to elaborate concrete proposals on topics that affect the negotiation process of Pre-COP26 in Milan (30 September – 2 October 2021) and COP26 in Glasgow (1 – 12 November 2021).

The meeting in Milan is part of the process of involvement of young people, which started in 2019, also thanks to the support of Italy, with the United Nations Youth Climate Summit, held in New York on 21 September 2019.

The event will offer young people from all over the world the opportunity to develop concrete proposals for Pre-COP26 in Milan and COP26 in Glasgow. The first two days will be dedicated to working groups, while the last day to a discussion between the young delegates and the Ministers attending the Pre-COP26.

Young people all around the world can now apply for a fully-funded ticket to attend the Youth4Climate: Driving Ambition event in Milan, Italy!

HOW TO ATTEND YOUTH4CLIMATE: DRIVING AMBITION

Interested young people between the ages of 15-29 can either:

 

– Submit an application detailing the ways you are working with and leading other young people to advance climate action (deadline 28th February):

– Enter the #SumItUp Competition by submitting a creative sum-up of your favorite #Youth4ClimateLive episode (deadline 31st March):

The application and the competition provide young people two opportunities to be part of this historic event, whether they are experienced climate activists or just starting their climate advocacy journey. Around 400 applicants (2 from each UNFCCC country) will be selected to participate, in addition to a single winner from the #SumItUp competition.
