On March 15, 2018, the Ambassador of Italy to Kuwait, H.E. Giuseppe Scognamiglio, attended the presentation of the book “Learned in the Trenches – Insights into Leadership and Resilience Compiled by Two Women Leaders in Energy” (Springer Editor, 2018), held by the authors, Maria Capello (business consultant in the oil and gas sector, expert in development strategies, innovation and monitoring) and Hosnia Hashim (Kuwaiti manager in the oil sector). The work aims to share the experiences and perspectives gained by the writers during the work in the Middle Eastern energy sector, retracing many challenges posed by multiculturalism and gender, experienced by the professionals as “precursors”, in a particularly rigid and conservative business environment.
