From March 16 to 20, 2018, a visit was held to the class FREMM frigate of the Italian Navy “Carlo Margottini” – F592, anchored at the Shuwaikh port in Kuwait.
On March 17, H.E. the Ambassador of Italy to Kuwait, Giuseppe Scognamiglio, accompanied by the Military Attaché for Defense Col. Vito Cracas and a delegation from the Embassy, made an official visit to the ship, holding talks with the Captain of the frigate, Giuseppe Lai. On the same day, the Italian community residing in Kuwait could also visit the naval unit.
On March 19 an official reception was held on board, during which H.E. Ambassador Scognamiglio and Captain Giuseppe Lai held statements in front of the Commander of the Kuwaiti Naval Forces, Maj. Gen. Khalid Ahmed Al-Kandary, and an audience composed of other local Authorities and dignitaries, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corp accredited in Kuwait, of the private sector, the press and culture.
